About Nesta Falladown
Nesta Falladown
Nesta Falladown is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and is Founder of The Yoga Centre of Burlington and North Star Yoga.
Nesta first began teaching both adults and children in the Hamilton, Ontario area as a Certified Yoga Teacher, and opened a Yoga school for both students and teachers. She found the brilliance and effectiveness of Iyengar Yoga and then pursued her certification.
She was first introduced to Iyengar Yoga in 1993 by Francois Raoult, Teacher and Director of Open Sky Yoga. Immediately drawn to the alignment based practice along with its great benefits she has since focused her studies in this tradition. Training includes seven years of Iyengar Yoga Teacher Training with Mahyar Raz, travels to Pune, India, training with Sri BKS Iyengar and his family and now studying with Marlene Mawhinney at Yoga Centre Toronto.
Her additional background includes Human Services at McMaster University and Vocational Rehabilitation. Nesta is dedicated to passing on knowledge, passion and intelligence in practice, helping students reach their full potential.
Nesta is a member of the Iyengar Association of Canada. Students interested in Iyengar teacher training may contact this Association.
Iyengar Yoga Teachers go through a rigorous training of five years, initially. They are tested in both written and teaching through the Association, which is governed by the Iyengars in India. Then a committed lifetime training enhances their ability to teach and to also be a student.
